Plucky's Big Day By Bridgette Berry E-mail: Timon GIRL Part one Prologue Deep in Acme Acres, everyone heard a loud scream. It was coming from a pond. At the pond lived a family of Ducks. Today was the big day. A baby was born in the Duck family. Mrs. Duck named him Plucky. Mrs. Duck was still very young and wasn't sure how to take care of the young baby. You see, it was only Mr. and Mrs. Duck. Now, it's Mr. Duck, Mrs. Duck, and little Plucky Duck. Everyone came to see what the screaming was about. Everyone was awed by little Plucky. Well, Plucky didn't like the attention very much so he let out a big wail. Mr. Bunny, one of the onlookers, suggested that it was best to leave. "After all," he said, "My wife just had a baby too. Buster is his name." "This cute little guy doesn't seem to like all this attention," said someone in the crowed,"Can we go see your son?" he asked Mr. Bunny. "I suppose." he replied. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Part two -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter one A year or so after Plucky was born, Mrs. Duck had another baby. They named her Patricia. Trish was her nickname. Plucky became extremly jealous of Trish. But in a few months, he got used to her presence. Time passed, and Plucky had his 2nd birthday. "What are we gonna do for my party, Mommy?" Plucky asked. "What do you want to do" she replied. "I want to go to 'Chuck E. Cheese'!" he answered. "Maybe." said Mrs. Duck. Trish was one year old, and Plucky, only at the age of two, was trying to teach her to speak, with a little succes. "What is Tuck E. Teese?" Trish asked. "Silly! It's not Tuck E. Teese. It's Chuck E. Cheese!" Plucky exclaimed. "Let her talk the way she wants to, Plucky," said Mrs. Duck, "You used to talk that way too." "Me?!" Plucky exclaimed. He was at the "terrible two" stage. "I never talked that way, Mommy. I have a perfect vocabruraly!" "Bruddy," Trish said. That was her way of saying brother. "It's vocabulary." "Your sister's right, Plucky. Maybe she has a perfect vocabulary." Mrs. Duck commented. "Huh?" Plucky said confusingly. "She can't even say 'Chuck E. Cheese'!!!!!!" "I was just kidding" Mrs. Duck said trying to calm Plucky down. "Maybe we will go to 'Chuck E. Cheese'," Mrs. Duck startedto say. "Alright!" Plucky yelled happily. "But NOT today" she finished Plucky scoffed at the idea. Why do I have to wait until tommorrow? Plucky thought to himself. Today is my birthday. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter two Today was the day that Plucky got to go to Chuck E. Cheese. When they got there, Mr. and Mrs. Duck spotted Mr. and Mrs. Bunny. "Buster, why don't you go make friends with the nice little boy and girl over there?" Mrs. Bunny said. "Okay!" replied Buster happily. Buster was a day older than Plucky. But Plucky was tall so he came just a little above Buster's ears. "Hi! What's your name?" Buster asked. "Plucky. And this is my little sister Patricia" Plucky answered. "Trish! Call me Trish!" Trish screamed. "My name is Buster. Want to be friends?" "Okay!" both Plucky and Trish exclamed. It was that easy. "How old are you, Plucky?" Buster asked eagerly. "I just turned two yesterday. But......" Plucky started "I'm one!" Trish interrupted. "I wasn't finished!" Plucky said angrily. "But...." (he wanted to see if Trish was going to say anything)... "but I'm celebrating my birthday today." he finally finished. "My birthday was two days ago," Buster said, "But I'm clebrating mine today too." "Cool!" Plucky exclaimed. "Cool?" Buster said confusingly, "What's cool? "It......" Plucky started. But he was interrupted by Trish again. "It's a word we learned on TV. All the kids say it." Trisha continued for Plucky. "Oh! Cool!" Buster said, "Are you going to be on TV when you get older?" "I don't know," Plucky said, "But my Mommy says that when I turn five, that's going to be my big day. Are you going to be in TV, Buster? "Yeah! I want my own series." Buster said. "I don't want to be on TV!" Trisha exclaimed, "I want to be a model." "No one asked for your opinion!" Buster said, "Plucky and I were talking about it." Suddenly, Trish let out a big cry. Unfortunetly, Mr. and Mrs. Duck were to busy bragging to notice. "You don't have to be so mean!" Plucky exclaimed, "She's just a baby!" "So are you." said Buster. "You are too!" yelled Plucky. "Punch him out, Bruddy!" suggested Trish. All of a sudden, Mrs. Duck picked Plucky and Trish up. "Time to go!" said Mrs. Duck, "Hope you and Buster got along, because, guess what? Buster's coming to spend the night next weekend. Isn't that great?" "Wonderful!" said Plucky. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter three Ding Dong! The doorbell rang. Mrs. Duck hurried to open it. "It's probably Buster." "Mommy, why is Buster spending the night?" Plucky asked. "Because, his parents are going on vacation, Plucky." "Doesn't he have an Aunt or something?" Plucky wanted to know. "I'm afraid not," Mrs. Duck replied, "Buster doesn't have much family." "Mama," Trish said "I don't like Buster, and neither does Plucky." "Why not?" Mrs. Duck wanted to know, "You looked like you were getting along just fine." "That was before he started picking on Trish." Plucky replied. Mrs. Duck ignored them. She opened the door. Plucky grabbed his sister. "Come on, Trish," Plucky said, "Let's go into my room and get away from Buster." "Hi, Donna!" Mrs. Duck said. Donna was Mrs. Bunny's name. "Hi, Nicki! Donna said. Nicki was Mrs. Duck's name. "Where's your husband, Fred?" Nicki asked. "He went golfing." Donna said, "Where's your husband, Rob?" "He went golfing too." replied Nicki. "Wow," Donna exclaimed, "Maybe they're playing on the same course." "Maybe." Nicki said, "Where's little Buster?" "He's......" Donna started "I'm down here!" Buster chimed in. "I think Plucky and Trish are in their room." Nicki said, "It's right down the hall and to your left." "Thanks," Buster said crudely, "Bye, Mommy!" "Bye, Buster!" Donna waved goodbye, "Pick you up in three days. That'll be on Monday, okay?" "Okay," he grumbled, "Bye!" He walked down the hall and to the left just like Nicki instructed him. He saw a door with some words on it. "P-L-U-C-K-Y?" He said wondering what that ment. Too bad I can't read yet, he thought to himself, I wonder what it says. "Oops!" he said aloud, "I forgot wich way was left. I think it's this one with the word P-L-U-C-K-Y on it." He knock on the door. "Who is it?" a voice asked. "It's Buster." he replied. "Oh," the voice grumbled, "Go away!" "No!" Buster snapped, "Open the door, NOW!" The door opened. Buster peered inside. There was nothing but darkness. "Hello?" Buster said. His voice quivered. "Anybody here?" "Step into the room." the voice said. Buster steped in. A small fluorescent light turned on. On the ceiling, where the light was shining, Buster saw what appeared to be slime. SPLAT! Suddenly, Buster was all wet. "Waaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!!!" Buster cried. Nicki was vaccuming, so she couldn't here Buster's cry. "BOO!" Two masked faces appeared right infront of Buster. "AHHHHHH!" Buster let out another cry. "Gotcha!" The masked faces said as they turned on the light. "Huh?" Buster said confusingly, "What?" The two masked people took off there masks. It was Plucky and Trish. "We said gotcha." Trish told Buster. "You guys are mean!" Buster wailed. "Serves you right for teasing my little sis!" Plucky scolded "We're going to give you one more chance," Trish explained, "You can be our friend if you want, but, if not, we'll continue tormenting you." "We're not afraid of you because you're older," Plucky explained, "We're not afraid of you at all." "Okay," Buster said. His voice still quivering, "I give up. You guys win. Can we still be friends? huh? Please? "Sure!" both Plucky and Trish said. "But no more picking on Trish, okay?" Plucky asked. "Okay." Buster agreed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter four Ding dong! The doorbell rang just as it did three days ago. "It's probably your parents, Buster," Nicki said. "It's time for her to pick you up. Today is Monday." "Aw," Buster moaned, "Do I have to go?" Nicki answered, "I'm afraid so." "Bye, Buster!" Plucky said sadly, "Come back soon." "Yeah," Trish chimed in, "Come back soon." "Okay," Buster promissed, "Bye, Plucky! Bye, Trish!" Nicki shut the door. "Did you guys have fun?" she asked. They both replied, "Yeah!" "But I thought you didn't like Buster." Nicki said. Plucky and Trish exchanged looks. "We changed our mind." Plucky finally said. "Oh, okay." Nicki said as she smoothly walked away. Plucky ran after her. "Mommy! Mommy!" he said, "Can we go to the mall? Huh? Can we?" "Okay," she answered him, "I'll take you to the mall. Go get ready first. You're not going to mall looking like that!" "Looking like what?" Plucky wanted to know. "Just go get ready, okay? "Alright." Plucky said turning away and grabbing Trish by the arm. "Kids," Nicki said to herself, "No matter how young, they always want to spend money." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter five "Look!" Plucky said excidedly, "Look at all the people here in the mall! "Oh!" Trish said, "Take us to the Toy store! Please, Mommy? Please! Can we?" "Yeah!" Plucky said. "Please, Mommy? Huh?" "Maybe after," Nicki said, "I have to do some shoping of my own." Plucky didn't want to wait. He wanted to go to the Toy store, Now! Why do we have to wait until she's done? Plucky thought, Me and Trish asked to come. It's our turn! Not her turn! "Hi!" a voice said. Plucky looked behind him only to see a pink female Bunny waving at him. "Did you hear me?" the pink Bunny asked, "I said hi!" "Are you talking to me?" Plucky asked. "Who else would I be talking to?" the pink Bunny replied. "Oh! Well, hi!" he finally said back to her. "My name is Barbra Anne," she told him, "But please call me Babs." "Hi, Babs!" Plucky said, "My name's Plucky. Are you here alone?" "No, I sneaked away from my Mom cuz she wouldn't take me to the Toy store." Babs explained. Plucky had just remembered that his Mom wouldn't take him to the Toy store. "Uh-Oh!" he said. "What?" Babs asked eagerly. "My Mom," he started, "I don't know where she is. I think I'm lost." "Oh, well," Babs told him, "Let's have some fun in the Elevator." "Okay!" Plucky agreed. They walked to the Elevator together. Babs was asking Plucky some questions. "How old are you?" she asked him. "Two!" he told her, "How old are you?" "I just turned two yesterday" she explained. "Cool!" Plucky exclaimed. "Wow," Babs started, "I thought I was the only two year old who knew that word" "Nope," Plucky said shaking his feathery head, "I learned that word a long time ago. I even had to teach it to my other friend." " Who's your other friend?" Babs asked. "Buster," Plucky began, "He's a Bunny just like you." "Cool!" Babs exclaimed, "Here's the elevator!" "Wow! Let's go in and push the buttons!" Plucky suggested. "Yeah!" Babs yelled. They both walked in and started pushing the buttons. "The elevator goes up!" Plucky said. "No! The elevator goes down!" Babs insissted "No up!" yelled Plucky. "Down!" screamed Babs "Up!" yelled Plucky "Down!" yelled Babs "Down!" Plucky yelled "Up!" screached Babs, "Uh, wait a second!" "No, you said up, so the elevator's going up!" Plucky said trying to hold in his giggle. "Fine!" Babs said, "Go up!" Meanwhile, Nicki was worried where Plucky had gone to. "Do you know where he went?" she asked Trish. "No," she replied, "Sorry, Mama. Maybe he's on a different floor." "Let's try it." Nicki said worrying. " Mommy," Trish started, "Why is the elevator going up and down? Can't it make up it's mind?" Nicki pushed the button pointing up. The elevator finally stopped and came down to the floor they were on. When the door opened, Nicki and Trish saw Plucky and a little pink Bunny standing still as if they knew what was going to happen. "Plucky?!" Nicki screamed, "where have you been?" "Right here with Babs." he replied. "Barbra Anne Bunny!" a voice yelled. Everyone looked to see Babs' Mom. "You are in big trouble, young lady!" "Bye, Plucky!" Babs said in a quivery voice. "Bye, Babsie!" Plucky called back. "We're going home right now!" Nicki said looking eye to eye at Plucky. "Yes, Mommy." Plucky said looking down at the floor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter six When thay got home, Nicki sent Plucky to his room. She thought he was too young for severe punishment. So, she tought that staying in his room for a while would calm him down. "I had no idea where he was," Nicki told Rob, "I was so frightened that something bad had happened to him." "It's okay, Nicki," Rob said patting her on the back. "Everything is okay. Plucky is okay and Trish is okay." "Boy," said Nicki deep in her thoughts. "That Mon was so mad at that little pink Bunny. What was her name again? Oh, yeah! It was Babs. Her Mom was realy mad at her." The conversation went on. Meanwhile, in Plucky's room, Trish had walked in the door. "Hi, Plucky!" she said, "How are you feeling?" "Oh, go away!" Plucky snapped, "I'm not in the mood for your little conmemts!" "Bruddy," Trish said, "It's comments." "What ever." Plucky said in a gloomy voice. Trish closed the door behind her. "Sorry I bothered you." she said almost crying. Plucky just sat on his bed staring at the floor. Suddenly, a big tear drop fell to the floor. Plucky sarted to cry. He couldn't help it. he called for his Mom. "Mommy! Moomy!" he yelled, "Mommy! Where are you?" His Mom came rushing in. "What," she asked, "What is it?" "You don't love me anymore!" he said wailing at the top of his lungs. "Of course I still love you," she said, "I'll always love you. You're just in a little trouble, that's all." "You still love me?" Plucky asked calming a little. "Always and forever." Nicki said. "You okay?" Trish asked. "Yeah, thank you." he replied. "Do you love me, Trish?" "Eeew!" she said, "No way! Yuck!" "Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!!!" Plucky wailed again. "Okay, okay," Trish finally said, "I love you too." Eeeeeeeew! she thought to herself. "So," Nicki said, "Is everything okay now?" "Yeah!" Plucky replied. "Good," Nicki said, "Oh! By the way, Buster is coming over tommorrow." "Alright!!!" Plucky and Trish exclaimed. "Now," Nicki started, "Time to go to bed. Especially if you wanna get up early to see Buster when he gets here." "Okay, Mommy." Plucky said. "Yes, Mama." Trish also said. "Good night." Nicki told her children. "Night, Mommy." they both said. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter seven Ding Dong! The door bell rang. Nicki, once again, went to answer it. "Hi, Donna!" She exclaimed, "Hi, little Buster!" "Hi," Buster replied back, "Where's Plucky and Trish?" "In the room." Nicki told him. "Okay!" Buster replied. He trotted down the hall to Plucky's room. He opened the door. "Hiya, pal!" he said to Plucky. "Hi, Buster!" he said, "Wanna know what I did at the mall?" "What?" Buster asked eagerly. "I played in the elevator with this girl Bunny named Babs." he told Buster, "It was fun! But then, we got caught by my Mom, and got in big trouble."
