Lil' Imagination by Mortimer Anderson e-mail: me_is@hotmail.com It all starts in the late 70's when Buster and Monty were still toddlers. Monty's extended family is very prejudiced and hates Monty and his parents. Monty, like the other toons, is small and not human. The toons are toons, capable of things that we can't do. Monty and his family is not rich at all, their just trying to get what they need to survive. They live in a small apartment and are less than middle class. They were trusting in the stock market to help them. Well the stock market dropped drastically, and they have to give up everything, left out on the street in the dead of winter. All of their friends also have become homeless, and his family doesn't care that they are homeless. Monty soon learns that people are cruel and so is Acme Acres weather. Charles is one of Monty's best friends. Charles is about as old as Monty's parents, Jennifer and David Maxwell. Charles has a horse named Inside Information and gives her to Monty. Why? Because Charles believes that Monty can get some place with Inside. Charles trains Monty to ride and finds out Monty doesn't need instructing. Monty is ready for competition. He gets perfect scores in every competition. He moves up to the adults division.(Use your imagination for me, Okay?) One of the competitors was known as the best of the best and Monty goes up against him. Monty gets the trophy and the purse. Mitchell Smith is also known as a very poor sport. And the fact that he got beat by a 8 year old homeless kid just didn't fit right in this mans head. The next day, Monty's in the paper, all over the paper as a mater of fact. The only problem was that Inside Information got stolen. And that just put everything at an all time low. Now there was no way that he could get her back. He had no money, or sympathy. For 24 hours he had the spot light, and now it was back to digging in trash cans for food. He didn't want to do that, he wanted to just be consoled by someone other than his parents and Charles. So, he ran to the other end of town. He spotted his small time friend Buster. Buster liked Monty a lot and had heard what happened. Buster said, "I heard. In a town like this, things like this spread." Monty wasn't in to mood for talking, heck he was pissed! Buster, "Listen, I've talked to people and no one knows. We can't afford a search for her." Monty, "I know! What do you think I know?? I know nothing! There's nothing I can do! I....!" With tears in his eyes, he turns around and looks around to just to see if there was a sign for her. Buster looks at him not knowing what to do. This is his best friend, he's never run into this before. All Buster has is his dad, his mom died a month after he was born. Buster, "Come on, lets get away from Civilization for a day or two." They head off to a small "house" Buster and Monty built. They settle in and look out to the boating area out the window. Monty stay's quiet and doesn't say any thing for the rest of the day. Now we are being teleported to when the pair was 13 and had their Feelings. Buster and Monty are still poor and homeless. And Babs lives at a small homeless shelter on Main St. When ever Monty and Buster are desperate, they go there to get food. Buster and Babs have known each other for a while, but Monty has known Celia Benragard since he was three. Celia, is a bunny toon, a bluish gray but more gray. One of her ears is oblong because some kid took that ear and damaged it. Celia is very pretty and some what like Babs. Buster and the other three get into a conversation and Buster starts to admire Babs. Monty notices and just keeps goofing off with Celia. Buster says to Babs, "I'm gonna be hanging at the park later. Do you want to go down there and talk?" Babs says, of course, yes, and is thrilled. Buster and Monty leave, and Monty fully knows who Buster likes. Monty, "Hmmmm........... you seem to like Babs." Buster, "Yeah I do, but I don't think she likes me." Monty, "Oh, well then why didn't she turn you down? I think she likes you. Why don't you ask her out?" Buster, "No, see if I go out with her, what will I do with her? I mean I'm poor." Monty, " Just cause you're poor don't mean you can't hang out and talk at the mall. Besides, you can always save up for something for her." Buster keeps refusing, and then Monty uses the dreaded reverse psychology on Buster. Buster, "I don't know, I'll see, but you have to find food on your own." Monty, "I'll just go to the shelter." Monty grins. Buster then heads off to the park to meet Babs. At the park, Babs and Buster are talking and having a good time. Buster realizes that he really does like Babs, and tries to gain the courage to ask her out. Buster, "Babs I uh........ um...... Like you and I was uh......well..." Babs knows what he's asking and is about to burst. Buster, "Go out with me, so uh will you go out with............ me?" Babs, "Yes, of course, but I had better get back to the shelter before someone takes my cot." Babs kisses him on the cheek and jogs off to the shelter. Babs returns to the shelter, and Monty is still goofing off with Celia. Monty, "Listen kid I'd better go. I'll see you tomorrow." Monty leaves and Babs says to Celia, "Buster asked me out!!" and Celia jumped up with joy. Celia, "That's Great!!!!" and they do they usual girl rejoicing now that Babs is going out with Buster. Well, kinda anyway. Buster which is now back at the "house" and is gaga. Monty laughs at Buster's love struck face. Monty, "You look like you saw a ghost! hehehe......." Buster, "She said yes.........." and that happened to hit Buster hard. Buster was so happy that he had not realized that now he was growing up. As you might know, with the feeling of a deep hard crush, you feel as though there's a string leading from your heart to their's. Buster felt the same way. For the next several weeks, Buster and Babs grow in their relationship, as do most people. They went on "dates," they just met each other at certain places and talked. I personally think that talking is great (: The gang's lives seemed to turn out all not that bad. They got along well and did regular stuff together. But they still got ridiculed and teased because they didn't have money or a home. This didn't bother them. ~You are now being teleported to when Buster and Monty were 14~ Now that their lives seemed all so clear, Monty began to get out of his, "must be single," stage of life. One day, the two went down to the shelter to go and goof off with Babs and Celia. Monty had began to like saying "hi" to Celia more and more. He was falling hard. Buster realized that when they were playing truth or dare in the back. Just a tad bit of flirting going on between the two. So Buster dared the two to a game of Basketball. Celia won the match and Monty didn't care, heck, he got to guard her. Once they left, Buster dropped reality on Monty. Buster, "Like Celia, eh?" Monty, "uh......um well yeah I.....I guess." Buster, "Oh well than why don't you get together sometime?" Monty, "It won't go over well with my folks that's why." Buster, "With parents like yours, anything will go over well." Buster was right, Monty does have very great parents. But, she was a bunny and he, well, wasn't. Plus the fact that Monty tends to be very independent. But that didn't matter, he liked her a lot, and he just wanted to be with her always. Buster was great with girls, he wasn't afraid to do anything with them. Buster wasn't green like Monty. He had always been shy about Celia, she was his first crush. Everything was in slow motion but it was all about to be broken when Celia came up behind him (Monty). Celia, "Hey, kid whatcha doin'?" Monty, almost in shock, just looks at her. Buster privately whispers in Monty's ear, "I'll be leaving you two alone." Buster leaves with a grin on his face. Celia, "Okay let's try this again. What's up?" Monty takes this as a real question and looks up to the sky and says, "The night sky, you should know that." Celia takes this as a joke and says, "So I take it you're fine?" Monty, "Uh yeah I, I guess. Why are you here?" Celia, "Because there's nothing to do in this pitiful town, that's why." Monty, "Well, you could sleep." Celia, "I'm not tired." Monty, "Oh, well then you could always take a walk with me." He gives out his arm and to Celia, and he looked like a Casanova in the moonlight. She takes his arm and the set off through the park talking about miscellaneous stuff. 'The night is short,' one great man said, and he's right. They had been talking so long that the morning glare had begun. Celia, "Well I guess it's getting early!" Monty, "Yep, but that only seemed like 5 minutes." Celia, "Yeah it did. And I'm not tired" Monty just looks at the morning glare smiling, for he was at bliss. Celia just leans against him, and also looks off to the distant sunrise. Monty, "Do you want to go out with me?" Celia looks up at him and smiles, "Sure." They both just sit there and watch the sunrise till everyone was getting up and all the racket of the city began. They both talked and walked back to the shelter. Monty gave her a kiss and then walked back to his "home." Celia automatically felt her soul and heart burst with joy. Buster, "So how was it?" Monty didn't answer, he just looked off to the sun. Buster just looked at him and just knew what had happened. Buster, "You asked her out didn't you?" No answer. Buster, "She said yes?" No reply. Buster, "You kissed her?" No remark. Buster, "You screwed her?" Monty, "NO! Nasty!!" Buster, "Just making sure you were listening." Monty, "You know I'm a virgin." Buster, "I am too, so, THERE!" Note:They were not having a fight. So it was like this for the rest of their lives? NO-WAY.
